Abstract

In the article there are presented the changes in the origin of dioceses over the years and also the disputes about the origins of parishes located on border dioceses of Płock and Włocławek. At the beginning of 14th century the Włocławek diocese got a legal confirmation of belonging of parishes of Szpetal and Bobrowniki and also two villages in the parish of Przypust situated on the right bank of the Vistula river. In 1633 (on the ground of exchange) the Włocławek diocese received in the Dobrzyń land (on the right bank of Vistula) four parishes from the Płock diocese (Nowogród, Ciechocin, Dobrzejewice i Złotoria). Over the years of 1818–1925 the border between Włocławek and Płock dioceses was the Vistula river again. In 1925 Włocławek diocese got twenty parishes from Płock one located in Dobrzyń land. As a result of those changes a great part of Dobrzyń land that used to belong to Płock diocese is now in the area of Włocławek one.

Apart from presenting the changes of the parishes’ diocese origin, the author provided the basic information about them.
