From the history of music in the cathedral in Włocławek

Abstract

The article presents the history and musical traditions of the cathedral in Włocławek. From the very beginning, the Episcopal Church has been a place where the liturgical nurturance and the music, associated with it, so as it is a role model for the entire diocese. Although the history of the diocese, with its capital in Włocławek, is complicated and, despite many wars and partitions in the Republic of Poland, traditional singing and music ensembles survived in the cathedral until 1865. It is because of the care of the bishops and the cathedral chapter. The heir and the continuator of the music ensemble is the cathedral choir, which exists to this day.
