The hermit’s work according to blessed Paul Giustiniani

Abstract
This article is an attempt to analyze the doctrine of the hermit’s work by the eminent Camaldolese hermit and constitutionalist Blessed Paul Giustinian (1476–1528)57, contained in his writings. The research used a critical-descriptive method. The printed sources, listed in the bibliography below, were used: theological-mystical and historical. The article analyzes Giustiniani’s approach to the issue of work as a saving tool and characterizes the ranges of concepts formulated by the Blessed One: tools of the eremitic’s work; the eremitic’s work; types of the eremitic’s work; a catalog of actions and omissions constituting acts of the hermit’s work; manual work of hermits and the laws governing the hermit’s work. Based on the writings of Blessed Paweł Giustiniani, de lege ferenda postulates were formulated in this article regarding the norms regarding the work of hermits and hermitesses, which could possibly be applied in documents, which in the future will constitute a set of norms of canon law regarding the life of hermits.
