Need of rules of Polish Episcopal Conference considering the church attorneys

Abstract

In order to help with overcoming the difficulties in church solicitors’ work and demonstrate the need for an announcement of rules of the Polish Episcopal Conference concerning those solicitors, the significant issues connected with their service were discussed and analysed. Firstly, the kinds of attorneys and their tasks were presented; the permanent duties, tasks and solicitor’s entitlements at different stages of advice and a trial were distinguished. The important issues are considerations about the joining the function of solicitor with other functions and judicial offices, availability of church attorneys in Poland and a delicate problem of their payments. Against this background, the foundation and activity of the Body of Church Lawyers in Poland and the almost ten-year trying to publish and announce of rules of the Polish Episcopal Conference concerning church attorneys were presented.
