Abstract

The article presents a picture of the contemporary Church from the pastoral perspective. Pastoral theology carries out research in several fields. Her interest include pastoral care, ecclesiology, creative and saving plan of Divine Providence, signs of the times, history and human. The modern Church is changing differently in the East and in the West. The main threat is its politicisation, and the greatest challenge is to promote holiness. Restoration of the Church is possible thanks to the restoration of faith in God and its realization in everyday life through love.
