A comprehensive set of archives, which makes researching on ordinations of the clergy in the 15th and the first half of the 16th century possible, has survived in the Diocesan Archive in Włocławek. This set includes the book of the bishop Andrzej Zebrzydowski containing two lists of clergy ordained by him in spring 1550. The lists contain 37 persons ordained either as acolytes (11 persons) or ordines maiores (26 persons). A characteristic feature of the lists is a big number of clergy (19 persons) from outside the Włocławek diocese, mainly from the bishoprics of Płock, Gniezno and Poznań. There were only 3 friars included in the lists. The majority of clergy ordained to higher orders was given canonical commissions from private individuals like clergy and gentry.
