Abstract

The pontificate of Pope Francis is marked by openness and a new look at the community of the Church and the modern world. In proclaiming the Gospel, the pope uses art, subordinating it to pastoral practice. In his teaching, he clearly presents the position towards the forms and tasks that the artists face. Being the pope of gestures, he does not limit himself to theoretical remarks but uses art to proclaim the message of a culture of dialogue, meeting and finding a man lost in the chaos of the ugliness of large urban agglomerations. Both the Vatican Museums and the Gardens of the Apostolic Palace are open to anyone who, in the works of art and nature, can read the message of salvation in Christ.

Paweł Szczepaniak, Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome

Ksiądz rzym.-kat. Odbył studia magisterskie z teologii na Uniwersytecie Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu oraz studia magisterskie na wydziale Dóbr Kultury Uniwersytetu Bolońskiego. Obecnie student Uniwersytetu Gregoriańskiego w Rzymie. Członek Komisji ds. Sztuki Sakralnej Archidiecezji Ravenna-Cervia oraz członek Zespołu ds. Kultury Archidiecezji Ravenna-Cervia.
